So, I’m going to brag for a little bit…. We recieved my brother’s locker yesterday!!!! This deployment is wrapping up and I can’t wait for him to be back in the states. I’m taking it one day at a time and it’s even better that I get to hang out with him before I ship for training!!!

Taking this one day at a time

I NEED HELP!

My brother is currently deployed with the Army and about a couple weeks ago I swore into the Air Force. We have an ongoing war on Facebook making fun of each others pictures. If you can send me anything that would be great! Pictures, quotes, sayings, etc. Thanks! I’ve just been to busy with school and everything to keep up with him :)

Have you heard of an organization called Battling BARE?

This organization is about battleing PTSD. “NO MORE will we be the ‘silent support’ on the homefront… our Service Members DESERVE the right to be healed and whole! Help Combat PTSD! Our Caregivers DESERVE to know they aren’t on this journey alone.”

There mission: The mission of Battling Bare, Inc. is to provide a network of support for the spouses, children and family members who silently struggle to carry the burden of PTSD with their beloved Service Members. By creating a safe place to band together and share our stories, we will raise awareness about PTSD and create positive programs of true healing for families affected. Battling Bare, Inc. strives to be unique, positive and encouraging community resource for spouses of all military Service Members who struggle with PTSD. We are dedicated to eradicating the stigma in order for the family as a whole to achieve the help and healing they deserve.

Here is their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BattlingBare

This is a great organization to check out and if your in the Social Work field like me and need to fill in your volunteer hours, this would be a great opportunity!

I’m rocking the tragus awareness ribbon for Red Friday!

EVERYONE!!! Please go to this link (here) and like this picture. I don’t know this lovely family but what I do know is that he is trying to win a ring so that when he gets back from deployment he can give it to her!! Any help from the Milso community would be great :)

That’s cute. Y’all go do it and reblog so more people do it (:

Just so everyone knows I’m going to keep reblogging this daily! This family keeps getting closer and closer. I do believe they are currently in 2nd place. Let’s help this family out, the husband wants to win this ring so that when he gets back from deployment he can give it to his wife. She currently doesn’t have a ring so this would be lovely!

Finally talking to my brother, his fiance has been snatching him up too much! lol Can’t complain though, I love her :)

Anyone else currently missing loved one’s from deployment?

I hope everyone is enjoying their day! I know I am :)

My brother was able to Skype this morning while he is on a deployment. He watched while everyone opened gifts like we always do when he is home; one person opens a gift and then the next goes going around a circle. My nephew had to keep showing off his new toys while at the same time almost breaking my laptop because he was banging on it lol The only thing I’m dreading is going into work tonight! Ugh well if my brother can work on Christmas day then so can I.

How is everyone celebrating Christmas with their loved ones deployed??

My Brother in-law is coming back to the states from the UK (where he is stationed with the British Army) with my sister. It has been 4 years since I saw them last and I am finally going to be able to meet my nephew who is 2!!! This was the first year in a long time that the family was going to be together again as a whole until my brother received his deployment letter saying he had to leave within the week. My brother just recently told us that he is able to skype Christmas morning so my dad and the family has decided that we are buying him presents and wrapping them under the tree. When it is his turn to “open” a gift, someone in the family will open it for him and show him what he received. What do you all think?
